LOWER COLUMBIA CEF COMMITTEE
Coordinator: Jocelyn Schauer began serving with CEF after retiring from forty-three years teaching high school. She retired, but God doesn’t do retirement. He changed her career by giving a new purpose and passion. As a teacher, she taught students the skills and qualifications for a job; now she’s sharing God’s special gift for eternity with children! This past year, she completed CEF Children’s Ministry training giving her the “knowledge and increased passion for children’s ministry.” Jocelyn has always loved working with children of all ages through her church, school, and now CEF!
Chairman: Perry Toney has been serving in our Lower Columbia CEF for fourteen years. He has a passion for sharing the Gospel with children and firmly believes that a child can know Jesus at an early age. Perry and Gail (wife) have been actively serving at our Kessler Good News Club. Perry is a prayer warrior, leads the team with kindness, and continually exhibits his servant’s heart.
Secretary: Kristy Nessley has been serving on our Lower Columbia CEF committee for the past three years. Based on Matthew 5:16, she follows the Holy Spirit’s mandate to “Show Up and Shine” in all that she does. Despite personal hardships, God has been faithful and her rock. With eyes focused on Him, she has peace which passes understanding. Kristy loves her family, delights in laughter and is a servant! She likes all genres of music and enjoys being a piano accompanist for the LCC choir.
Treasurer: Kathy Elam started in Lower Columbia CEF by working for a year within a Good News Club. It wasn’t her passion, but she didn’t quit Lower Columbia CEF. She chose to be our much-needed treasurer. Kathy loves music and enjoys playing for church and the Delaware Plaza. She has a wonderful sense of humor and enjoys friends of all ages.
Bookkeeper: Marge Prosser has been serving as our CEF bookkeeper for eleven years. She has a heart for children and has committed to working once a week as a volunteer to complete office duties. Marge’s background in CEF began by attending a Good News Club as a child and now she is serving as our bookkeeper.
Member: Laura Hubbard has a heart for children! She is a secretary at Cascade Middle School and loves spending time with her grandchildren. Laura’s love of God and children is the motivation for her serving CEF as she leads the Lexington Good News Club. She is an excellent leader and is constantly encouraging others to get involved on the team. Growing up as a missionary child in Papua New Guinea, Laura has a passion to share the love of Jesus with children.
Member: Julie Yetko loves telling children about Jesus through face painting; there’s no fear as she travels to events to paint and tell the Gospel! After losing her job at the Veteran’s Hospital in Portland, she saw God’s plan allowing her time to work in our Good News Clubs. Wanting to develop her teaching skills, she attended CYIA this past summer and this fall she’s taking TCE1. Julie is a dental hygienist and is excited to find a job in the area.
Web Designer & Form Creator: Christiana Thomas should not be on this page, Jocelyn. I copied and pasted but this is coming off, okay? 😉 I’m not part of the Lower Columbia CEF Committee. 🙂
is blessed with many different skills that she uses to help us create and maintain the webpage and the registration forms. Her special love of children, ability to create media and forms, and God’s given talent to share Bible lessons, songs and verses is a special gift from God to us. Christiana has been an active member of the Lexington Good News Club for the past three years.
God blesses His children with direction and support to fulfill His purpose.
He just asks for willing obedience.
